We get lots of comments from friends and family asking if we've "moved back to Colorado"... so I thought it might be good to update the inquiring minds and put to rest the queries. We have not "moved back to Colorado" but we have been somewhat stationary in Colorado (except for a week long visit to Houston because a PERFECT nephew made his arrival!) for almost 2 months now.
So why in the world would we not be taking the prime summer time to tour this beloved nation?
Multiple reasons... first being that our RV needed MORE work. (oh, the joys of ownership, and thank God, truly, for the warranty)
Fletcher's entire family is in the midst of big transitions so we came back to say "good bye's" and spend some quality time with our loved ones before heading back out to the ole American road.
I turned 30 and needed to let my beautiful, encouraging friends surprise and spoil me with a delicious dinner. ;) Thank you girls!
We are certainly itching for adventure, but to placate the wanderlust pains we have taken little weekend trips and visited dear friends who have offered new experiences to entertain and amuse us during the 2 month lull. Thank you all who have invested in our summer and made it memorable!
We have welcomed several babies into the world. The highlight being that I got to spend a week with my sister and help her welcome her first son, Desmond into the world! It was a priceless week with her and her beautiful family and I'm so grateful to have been around for his birthday!
We have stayed on our friends' ranch and explored it's wild, exciting lifestyle. From tractor driving to fire pit chatting to frog trapping to crawdad catching... it was all such a wonderful country adventure!
We have coffee dated with our friends, dinner dated each other (because BABYSITTERS- I LOVE YOU!) and up-dated our website... feel free to peruse and discover a few new sections.
You'll find the "Adventures" page full of our dream- trips. This is a very small list since we misplaced our full list that we wrote several months ago, so feel free to send us your favorite ideas of adventures that we should add to the ole "bucket list" for the year around America.
There is also a "Gear" page that is chock-o-block full of the junk that we have stuffed our RV full of. haha! We will try to keep updating it as things come and go in case you are interested in adding one of our "trinkets or treasures" to your own life. These are silly things and serious things and hopefully as the days go on, we can spend more time chatting about what has been most helpful in making the RV feel safe, look cute, and feel like home. Ask us any questions that you might have about the gear and we'll do our best to give you our honest feedback. Much of the stuff that we have up there is from our own online-browsing and getting ideas from people that have done "RV-Life" before.
To answer one more of the questions that might be keeping you up at nights: WHERE ARE WE GOING NEXT?!
The answer is: the East Coast for the autumn colors and the fall-adventures! Come back and see what orange trees, red apples, and crunchy yellow leaves look like... we'll try to post lots of photos and VIDEOS... soon to come!
Oh, and if you were curious about my emotional state right now... SO MUCH BETTER! I'm much less stressed about breakdowns, delayed RV parts, and changing plans than I was just a few short months ago. I can feel God working on my heart and already bringing about a very needed peace and rest in the change and inconsistency that is this RV lifestyle. (But if things change and the turmoil begins again, I'll be sure to keep ya posted- because what fun would it be if you only heard about the tidy, clean, happy life and never got to see the grit- ;) )
